35 Cyber Monday Fitness Deals You’ll Regret Not Shopping Before Midnight

New Year’s Day is unofficially the biggest shopping holiday of the year for fitness gear as people lean into their annual resolutions. But real deal seekers know that Cyber Monday is actually the best opportunity to score items like exercise equipment, activewear, fitness trackers, and sneakers at a steep discount.

Cyber Monday sales from retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Nordstrom on brands like Lululemon, Adidas, and Mirror make it possible to outfit not only your home gym but your workout wardrobe — and all the other essentials needed to tackle your health and fitness goals.

Some of the best Cyber Monday fitness deals we’ve spotted so far include $50 off Amazon’s best-selling treadmill, $45 off an adjustable dumbbell set, and $60 off a stationary bike. Of course, nothing will go better with a fresh home gym setup than a new pair of leggings (like this Lululemon pair that’s 50 percent off) and a fitness tracker to maximize your workout (like this Suunto watch that’s 42 percent off).

And while many popular fitness items — like treadmills, stationary bikes, and dumbbells — tend to sell out around early January, they’re fully in-stock ahead of the holidays. Better yet, they actually make spectacular gifts for loved ones trying to make the most of their time spent social distancing this winter.

Ready to get your goals on? Shop the 35 best Cyber Monday 2020 fitness deals happening now.

25 Cyber Monday Exercise Equipment Deals 2020: Weights, Bikes, Rowing Machines, More

We are roughly one month out from finishing this dumpster fire of a year, with one last big sale, which is today only: Cyber Monday (November 30). There’s been a flurry of sales all November leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but that hasn’t deterred major brands and retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Theragun from slashing their prices for this shopping holiday. If you’re working from home, you likely don’t have all the time in the world to set alerts on who has the best deal on what. Chances are that you’re also working out from home, as gyms aren’t your best bet during a pandemic as they involve you staying indoors with a bunch of breathing people. And if you were relying on outdoor workouts, temperatures are dropping, forcing you inside.

Which leaves you one last option, which is to beef up your at-home gym setup. If you’ve had your eye on a folding treadmill, stationary bike, rowing machine, weights, a new yoga mat, and/or on-demand exercise subscriptions, make moves ASAP to snatch up these last-chance Cyber savings so that you can make moves inside your own house. If you’re not adding to your cart now for your wallet, then at least do it for your health.

Retail giant Amazon, as expected, has some killer deals on all the at-home fitness equipment you could want to round out your home gym: Foldable treadmills, cycling machines, adjustable dumbbells, and more.

Therabody’s self-massage devices are popular in the fitness community for their quickfire ability to massage sore, strained muscles. It’s kind of like a foam roller, but with a more powerful impact. The brand rarely has sales, and this one’s about to run out, so get to it.

Theragun Elite

This handheld percussive therapy device uses amplitude (depth), frequency (speed), and torque (force) to reach deep into your muscles to increase blood flow and decrease soreness and stiffness. It helped me move better after tough workouts, and also released tension in my shoulders after leaning over a laptop all day.

Best fitness tracker for Cyber Monday: track steps, activity, sleep and cardio

Looking to get fit in 2020? The best fitness tracker (aka a fitness band, aka “those things you wear that count your steps”) is a decent place to start, especially if you’re trying to stick to New Year resolutions, even though it’s only autumn. Fitness trackers are not expensive but the best Cyber Monday deals brought the prices down even further.

• Shop the best cheap Fitbit deals on right now.

With the market extremely well established there really is something for everyone in terms of prices, from around £20 to £200+, with products that do little more than count steps and ‘track sleep’, with varying degrees of inaccuracy, all the way up to devices with heart-rate tracking that are more like scaled down running watches.

After many years of doing very little beyond counting steps, makers of trackers and bands are now realising that many consumers want more useful feedback on how fit they are and how to get fitter. They are addressing this with, it must be said, ‘varying’ degrees of success. Or, if you’re less diplomatic, not much success.

To cut a long story short, if you’re interested in fitness, my strong advice is to get a running watch instead. The term ‘running watch’ is just shorthand – they’re fitness watches that also useful when cycling, hiking, at the gym and even, in a few cases, swimming.

However, if you must have a Fitbit or similar, get the new Charge 4 or one of their more versatile watches such as the Versa 2.

But what is the best fitness tracker?

Okay, it’s a Fitbit. Quite hard deciding which, as they are so similar in terms of functionality but at present we rank them like this:

Fitbit Charge 4: best fitness tracker overall. Finally, Fitbit has given runners, HIIT workout heroes and anyone who likes more intense exercise what they want. There’s GPS to track outdoor activity, improved pulse monitoring accuracy and a new points system that rewards SWEAT.

Fitbit Versa 2: best fitness tracker with smartwatch elements. With fairly good pulse tracking, Alexa, and an excellent app, this is a good fitness band made just big enough to incorporate a smartwatch-style screen and functionality. No GPS built in but you can tap into your phone’s.

Fitbit Versa Lite: best cheap fitness tracker and easily good enough for most people.

Garmin Vivoactive 4: best fitness tracker made by someone other than Fitbit. with built-in GPS, tracking of more intense workouts and impressive accuracy, this is obviously the device that the Charge 4 was built to take on. The look and feel of it, plus the social and app elements are a bit crappier, however.

Fitbit’s app, social network and general ecosystem are just by far the best. Seriously, it’s not even close. Garmin’s new, tightened-up app is a step in the right direction in some ways, but it’s still too sprawling, because it’s designed to be for everyone from 10,000-steps-per-day mums to elite triathletes.

What you need to know about coronavirus on Monday, November 2

The pandemic is undeniably getting worse in the US. At least 31 states reported at least one record-high day of new coronavirus cases in October, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. Nearly 50,000 Americans are currently hospitalized with the virus.

But while Fauci tells it as it is, Trump continues to downplay the epidemic by lashing out at doctors, disputing science and attacking the press for highlighting rising coronavirus case counts.

“All the stars are aligned in the wrong place” as the country heads indoors in colder weather, Fauci said. “You could not possibly be positioned more poorly.”

Fauci has repeatedly told Americans that they can change the trajectory of the virus and save lives if they adhere to mask use, social distancing protocols and other safety precautions — advice the Trump White House blatantly ignores.

YOU ASKED. WE ANSWERED

Q: Should I wear face shields instead of (or in addition to) face masks?

A: The CDC does not recommend using plastic face shields for everyday activities or as a substitute for face masks. There are a few exceptions, such as for those who are hearing-impaired and rely on lip-reading, or those who have physical or mental health conditions that would be exacerbated by wearing a cloth face mask.

Face shields worn in addition to masks can provide an added layer of protection and can also help people stop touching their faces.

WHAT’S IMPORTANT TODAY

England joins France and Germany in lockdown

England will go into a second national lockdown on Thursday after spiking infections forced British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to give up on his desire to control the virus through piecemeal local restrictions.

Johnson is expected to tell Parliament on Monday that coronavirus deaths in the winter could be twice as high as during the first wave of the outbreak. But for many, the action came too late — the government’s scientific experts suggested in September more measures were needed.

The Office for National Statistics now estimates that one in 100 people in England had Covid-19 in the week of October 17, compared to one in 2,300 in July and one in 200 at the start of October. The total number of confirmed cases has now surpassed 1 million.

Slovakia tests half its population in one day

Around 2.58 million Slovaks — half the country — were tested on the first day of nationwide coronavirus testing on Saturday. Of those tested, 25,850 — roughly 1% — tested positive for the virus.

The government decided to test everyone in the country after seeing increases in the number of people getting infected. The mass testing operation took place over the weekend across nearly 5,000 testing places. More than 6,000 soldiers and 14,500 health workers were involved.
