A Dental Crowns Dentist in Ajax Reveals the Magic of Crowns

Dental crowns dentist in Ajax has revealed how this special procedure can change someone’s life.

Singer Dental’s Ajax dental office say that they feel like they are performing magic on someone’s smile when they are fitting them with dental crowns.

A spokesman said: “A crown is what covers a broken, damaged or decayed tooth. It not only transforms someone smile, but it will help to keep the shape of the patient’s jaw, improve their bite and chewing.

“They are a great solution for fixing the appearance of a damaged tooth. People can choose the material they would like their crown to be. They are usually porcelain or ceramic, but they could also be gold. The crown will sit over the damaged tooth and it will give a greater coverage than a veneer that only covers part of the tooth.

“Some people might need a whole tooth replaced, so a cap or crown can fit over an implant too,” he added.

A crown is usually fitted in two visits to the dental clinic. The first visit is when the dentist will examine the tooth and ensure that it can support a crown. They will assess the size and shape of it. If it is too big, then they will file down the tooth to allow the crown to fit. If it is too small or too damaged, then they will fill out the tooth to allow the cap to fit correctly.

The dentist will then take a plaster mould of the tooth so it can be sent to a lab for the crown to be made to the fit the tooth.  The dentist will often fit a temporary crown during the first visit so a patient can carry on with day to day life and eating until the crown is ready.

Two to three weeks later is when the patient will visit the clinic for a second time to have the crown fitted. It is secured in place with special dental grade adhesive.

The spokesman added: “Having a crown fitted should be relatively painless as the dentist will numb the mouth while the work is being carried out. Once fitted, a crown is expected to last between five and 15 years, it just depends on how well the person cleans it and also how they bite and chew. The more wear and tear the crown experiences then the less time it will last.”

The cost of a crown will depend upon the material used. A gold crown can cost between £600 and $2,500. A porcelain crown could cost between $800 and $3,000. Porcelain crowns that are fused to metal are probably one of the cheapest options – between $500 and $1,500.

Local Dentist forms California Institute for Dental Implants

A local dentist develops new dental implant surgery and placement to give more people a chance at a healthy smile.

After years of using multiple systems to perform dental implant surgery and implant placement, Dr. Sean Mohtashami of All Bright Dental created his own and called it the 4M Dental Implant Solution. The 4M Dental Implant Solution gives patients with unhealthy or missing teeth an opportunity to get dental implants, even if they have been told they do not have enough bone.

“I developed my system after many years of using several other world-renowned dental implant systems,” says Dr. Sean. “I have always felt there must be a better way, and so I addressed every step of the procedure. My team and I developed a solution that is easier, faster, and more comfortable for the patient. We still use the All-On-4® procedure for full-mouth restorations, but we’ve also designed and developed some incredibly durable and natural-looking implants for single tooth and full-arch replacements.”

Dr. Sean, as his patients like to call him, wanted to expand, and he began traveling to Southern California to place implants for other dentists in their offices. He opened his first 4M Dental Implant Center in Newport Beach, California in 2017. Since then, he has opened two more offices, in Anaheim Hills and Long Beach, California.

To complete the circle of helping as many people as possible, Dr. Sean opened the 4M Institute, to teach dentists the advanced art and science of dental implants. “I am humbled by the excitement other dentists have shown to learn the 4M procedures and techniques,” says Dr. Sean. “It has been my hope to help as many people as possible with dental implants. I never dreamed that I would be able to help so many. I genuinely believe that 4M is the simplest and most comfortable solution to missing teeth, especially for those needing a full arch of teeth.”

Dentistry is ever changing, with stronger and more natural looking materials. Complex procedures are becoming mainstream, and faster and less painful techniques are giving patients better results quicker and more comfortably than ever before. Teaching dentists advanced skills and improving their practices enables Dr. Sean and his team at All Bright Dental and 4M Dental Implant Center to positively impact the lives of patients around the world.

Kentwood dentist office to offer free dental services to veterans

For the 4th consecutive year, Partners in Dental Care is offering free dental care to Veterans who served and are currently serving our country.

KENTWOOD, Mich. — With Veterans Day approaching, a Grand Rapids dentist office is once again offering free service to veterans.

Partners in Dental Care in Kentwood is hosting it’s “Serving Those Who Served” event on Friday, Nov. 6.

“It’s been a popular event and that’s why we bring it back every year,” said Dianne Groendyk, Treatment Coordinator at Partners in Dental Care. “Just like past years, it’ll be first come, first serve.”

This year’s event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The dental services that will be offered free of charge include cleanings, fillings and extractions.

There will also be a registered nurse available on site for medical screenings and to answer any health-related questions veterans may have.

“We ask that veterans come to the office and pre-register on the 6th,” added Groendyk. “They can let us know at registration whether they want to see a doctor or a hygienist for a cleaning. We will take them in cue as far as order of which they came.”

Everybody will be required to wear a mask and to socially distance while waiting.

“If we are at full capacity, we will ask people to wait in their car and then we’ll call them on their phone to let them know when we’re ready to see them,” said Groendyk.

This is the fourth consecutive year Partners in Dental care has honored area veterans with this event.

“Our Veterans have sacrificed a lot,” said Groendyk. “Dental hygiene is important to healthy living, so this is our way to give something back to them.”

Miami Zoo’s resident dentist gives animals check ups for dental week

Dental health is as important for animals as it is for humans.

This week, the furry and fanged residents of Miami-Dade Zoological Park and Gardens, also known as Zoo Miami, went to the dentist.

A variety of procedures were performed during Dental Week, from cleanings to root canals, and patients included a lion, gorilla, chimpanzee, tapir, aardvark and otters.

The most common issue was removing accumulated tarter, as well as cracked or broken teeth that had to be repaired or extracted.

All the animals were fully sedated, both for their comfort and the dentist’s safety.

‘We have never had an animal wake up during a procedure,’ said zoo ambassador Ron Magill. ‘They are carefully monitored by an anesthesia team and if they show any sign of awakening, they are administered additional anesthesia to keep them fully sedated.’

Because animals generally don’t complain about dental pain, veterinarians often refer to it as ‘silent suffering.’

By the time anything is discovered, the disease or infection may be so far along that it’s debilitating – or even fatal.

General dental exams are performed on animals during regular health examinations.

If an issue is diagnosed, the zoo’s veterinarians will either resolve it themselves or, depending on its severity, enlist a veterinary dental specialist.

‘Dental health is a key component of the Animal Health Department’s preventative medicine program at Zoo Miami,’ said Magill, who snapped photos of the unusual proceedings. ‘A variety of issues ranging from gum disease to broken teeth can lead to critical care issues that may result in serious infection and even death without treatment.’

The procedures, which took between two and seven hours, were spread out over three days.

Sedation lasts about three to eight hours, with the dosage depending on the size and age of the animal.

Dr. Berning was able to treat two to three animals a day.

Parents Say Toddler’s Dental Procedure Went Horribly Wrong

Amy is the Director of Trending Content at LittleThings. After graduating from Florida State University with a creative writing degree, she moved straight to New York City to pursue a career in the arts. She loves discovering and sharing viral videos.

Monica and Donavyn, a couple from Alabama, took their 22-month-old son Chance to the dentist to get two of his teeth capped.

Chance wasn’t in any pain prior to the appointment. It was supposed to be a simple, routine procedure that would fix some dental decay.

During the appointment, Donavyn watched as the dentist started working in Chance’s mouth. He told Donavyn that Chance would need a root canal — but that’s when his parents say things took a very disturbing turn.

“He’ll file some more teeth down, he’ll start shaking his head, I watched [the filing tool] get the tops of his gums,” Donavyn told KFOR. “It hurts my heart to see my son go through that.

It also hurts my heart because I allowed them to do it, thinking they were professionals.”

At some point during the procedure, Chance’s parents say the dentist and his staff tried several times to get one of the caps to stick to his newly filed teeth, but they eventually gave up.

“The dentist kept explaining that they had never done a procedure on a child this small, and they really didn’t know what to do,” Monica recalled. “And mid-through the process they just stopped and said there was nothing they could do and kind of left the room and left my ex-husband in there with him.”

Chance left the dentist’s office swollen and in pain, and with four front teeth that were so shaven down that they were sharp to the touch.

He was in such bad shape that Monica and Donavyn rushed him to the emergency room.

It was there that the ER doctors realized just how poorly Chance’s dental visit had gone, and the lasting effects it could have…

Vegas Dentist Opens Dental Implant Institute and More Locations

In 1997, Dr. Sean Mohtashami opened All Bright Dental in Las Vegas, Nevada. It thrived as a general dental practice and later as a cosmetic dental practice. However, Dr. Sean (as his patients call him), wanted to help his patients even more and dove head first into dental implant dentistry. Upon seeing his implant patients’ remarkable emotional and physical changes, Dr. Sean fell in love with the process.

After years of using multiple ‘systems’ to perform dental implant surgery and implant placement, he created his own system he calls the 4M Dental Implant System. The 4M procedure and technique is the result of Dr. Sean’s obsession to improve on everything he does. The 4M Dental Implant solution gives patients who have unhealthy or missing teeth and thinning bone an opportunity for a new smile.

“I developed my system after many years of using several other world-renowned dental implant systems,” says Dr. Sean. “I have always felt there must be a better way, and so I addressed every step of the procedure. My team and I developed a system that is easier, faster, and more comfortable for the patient. We also designed and developed some incredibly durable and natural-looking implants for single tooth and full arch replacements.”

Dr. Sean had many dental implant patients in the Las Vegas valley but wanted to help more. Looking to expand, he began traveling to Southern California and placing implants as an associate for other dentists. he opened his first 4M Dental Implant Center in Newport Beach, California in 2017, bringing the 4M Dental Implant solution to Southern California. Since then he has opened two more offices, in Anaheim Hills and Long Beach, California.

To complete the circle of helping as many people as possible, Dr. Sean opened a teaching institute, the 4M Institute, to teach dentists the advanced art and science of dental implants. “I am incredibly humbled by the excitement other dentists have to learn the 4M procedures and techniques,” says Dr. Sean. “It has been my hope to help as many people as possible with dental implants, but I never dreamed that I would be able to help so many. It is an honor for sure. I truly believe that 4M is the simplest and most comfortable solution to missing teeth, especially for those needing a full arch of teeth.”
