Popular Ukrainian fitness influencer Dmitriy Stuzhuk, who denied the existence of coronavirus and called it ‘hoax’, has succumbed to the deadly virus. Stuzhuk reportedly contracted the disease during a trip to Turkey and was taken to hospital when he landed in Ukraine after testing positive for coronavirus. After being in the hospital for eight days, he was allowed for home treatment on October 15. However, the next day, he has rushed to the hospital again, after he had problems with his cardiovascular system. The 33-year-old social media star’s ex-wife, Sofia Stuzhuk, announced his death in a heartbreaking Instagram post on Saturday. “I did everything I could so the father of my three children lives. But nothing depends on me now. Dima is no longer with us. His heart could not stand,” she wrote.

“You are our guardian angel and your love will always protect our angels. How painful it is to realize… Blessed memory of you, Dima Stuzhuk.”

After becoming ill, he shared the news to his fans saying: “As you all know from stories, I am sick with coronavirus. Today, after returning home, for the first time there was an enthusiasm for at least writing something. I want to share how I got sick and convincingly warn everyone: I also thought that there was no covid… Until I got sick.”

“COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE! And it is heavy,” he added. Notably, Dmitriy and Sofia Stuzhuk split up six months ago but they have three children, the youngest just nine months old.

Dmitriy Stuzhuk, a fitness influencer from Ukraine, died at age 33 due to complications from COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, his ex-wife, Sofia Stuzhuk, confirmed in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Sofia wrote in Russian, which has been translated to English: “Only warm memories remain, three beautiful kids and valuable experience.”

Three days ago, Mr Stuzhuk, from Ukraine, shared a post on Instagram updating his 1.1 million followers on his condition, having contracted Covid-19.

Sharing pictures from his hospital bed, he wrote that during a recent trip to Turkey, he woke up one night with breathing difficulties, developing a cough the next day.

When he returned to Ukraine, Mr Stuzhuk underwent a test for coronavirus, which came back positive.

“I was one who thought that Covid does not exist… until I got sick,” he said in his Instagram post.

“COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE! And it is heavy.”

Stuzhuk added at the end of the caption that his condition was “stable”.

A day later, Stuzhuk’s ex-wife Sofia Stuzhuk, with whom he had three children, announced on Instagram that he had died.

Ms Stuzhuk shared a photograph of her and her ex-husband on the beach with their children at sunset. Their youngest child is nine months old.

The 25-year-old, who is also an influencer, then shared a second post dedicated to Stuzhuk, featuring another picture of them with their children.

“For the rest of my life I will remain grateful to you for our three beautiful children,” she wrote.

“For all the invaluable experience. And for who I have become with you.”

Fitness Influencer Who ‘Thought Covid Didn’t Exist’ Dies From It

A popular fitness influencer has died from the coronavirus after claiming that he believed the disease “didn’t exist.”

The 33-year-old Ukraine native, Dmitriy Stuzhuk, reportedly contracted the virus while vacationing in Turkey.

Stuzhuk, who boasted more than 1 million followers on Instagram, tested positive after returning home and immediately went to the hospital.

In his final post on Instagram, Stuzhuk, who said that the hospital was “completely filled with people,” admitted that he was wrong about the disease and urged his followers to stay vigilant.

“I want to share how I got sick and to strongly warn everyone,” he wrote. “I was one who thought that Covid does not exist… Until I got sick.”

Stuzhuk further told his followers that “COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE!”

Although Stuzhuk was eventually discharged from the hospital after being treated with oxygen, he was rushed back just hours later after his situation began to worsen.

Stuzhuk’s ex-wife Sofia stated on Instagram that her former husband began having heart-complications linked to “problems with his cardiovascular system.”

Sofia added that Stuzhuk went “unconscious” soon after as his health deteriorated.

“His state is extremely grave,” Sofia said. “No-one can do anything with this.

Stuzhuk, whose heart stopped and was restarted by health professionals at one point, eventually passed away.

“God, it is so terrible to realise that he is not with us anymore…” Sofia added.

The couple had three children together, the youngest of whom was just 9 months old.

“Only warm memories remain, three beautiful kids and valuable experience,” Sofia said.
